STEM Educators Academy: Overview

At its core, STEM Educators Academy (SEA) strives to support informal science education in afterschool by bringing school day STEM teachers and afterschool educators together to form collaborative teaching teams.

While implementation can be customized to work at your site, each site responsible for the following:

  • Offering at least 60 hours of STEM activities a year.  This program can fulfill the Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) requirement for STEM programming twice a week for sites that opted for a STEM focus. 
  • Enrolling at least 15 young people to participate in the STEM activity, though many sites serve more youth.
